Sabbatical is a Four Letter Word

Hi Everybody.

We’re hitting the road again in a few weeks. You can view the tour dates over on our shows page.  This tour will be a little different for us on many fronts. After 700 shows in 5 years, this will the last Destroy Nate Allen tour before we take a sabbatical from the road. I don’t know when we will be back out across the US. We’ve been running non-stop for the last several years. We’re ready for a break. We’ll still be playing locally and regionally but our bodies just need a rest from extended van life for a season.  Our goal for our upcoming tour is to hit to hit many of the places we haven’t been in a while and we have many fun ideas planned for this tour. We’ve spent the last month doing tour prep almost everyday.  If you know anyone if these towns or you can help with booking or promotion in any way please drop us a line at destroynateallen@gmail.com. We can’t wait to see everyone!

O’ The Wild Times In Pennyslvania!

Tessa and I are spending a few days in western Pennyslvania to celebrate Thanksgiving with her family. 10 days in the same zipcode! On Dec. 1st we begin our return trip to Oregon. Along the way we’ll visit OH, NC, GA, AL, LA, TX (5 shows!), NM, AZ, CA (6 shows including San Francisco!) Visit the SHOW’s page for the finalized tour dates. We can’t wait to see our our South West and West Coast friends – it’s been too long.

Tour has been amazing, we’ve played over 120 shows in around 40 states. We’ve made all sorts of new friends and played loads and loads of rock n’ roll. Our music has become more theatrical, audience involving, physical and we’re scaring a few people in the process. Yes, we’re having that much fun!

When we get back to Portland, Tessa will once again start tax season & I’ll again take classes @ PCC! If you know anyone that could help me out with a part time job, I’m interested in anything! We’re looking forward to being in the same place for a while and seeing all our friends. We’ll be living in North Portland this time close to Missisppi street.

If you haven’t heard our new record yet, Perfect Recipe For A Smile head over to DESTORYNATEALLEN.bandcamp.com to stream or download the record for FREE or DONATION!

Hope all is well.

Look At This Mess We Have Made!

Three years ago I was going through a musical crisis. I was writing songs and no matter where I looked I couldn’t find anyone I sounded anything like. Tessa was running a hospitality house at the time, and one of of her guests told her that he’d just returned from seeing all these “crappy little punk bands” play a festival in Florida. He showed her these crappy little bands and she thought to herself “This sounds like Nate’s music.”

One of those bands he told her about was Defiance, Ohio. She told me. To be honest I can’t remember the names of any other other bands but I went out and bought a Defiance, Ohio CD a few days later. I loved it!

A few months passed, I was about to embark on my first US tour.. and I still didn’t know anyone who played anything falling close to “folk punk.” I quit my job a day early and saw Defiance, Ohio, This Bike is a Pipe Bomb and Comadre. I had stumbled down the rabbit whole. Tonight, we play open for Defiance, Ohio. Please come out early and stay late. This show is very worth your time and effort. Here are further details:
