From what I can tell the only way to tour during winter break is to play events with family, friends, and to avoid the college towns. So that’s exactly what we’re doing.
Jan. 4th ALLEN EAST COMMUNITY CENTER 9520 Harrod Rd Harrod, Ohio
We’ll be celebrating the 11th anniversary of good friends FBS (Fight Before Surrender)..
6 pm. $6 All-Ages. https://www.facebook.com/events/254185201401116
We decided that today would be the perfect day to let you in on a little secret called Glow In The Dark!
For a few years we’ve been scheming to release a vinyl retrospective and it finally happened thanks to Vinyl Remains!
Glow In The Dark is a 12-track collection of Destroy Nate Allen favorites, brought to you by Vinyl Remains and released on a 10″ highlighter yellow and hot pink vinyl record. The record comes with two full album downloads; 1 album download is ripped directly from the vinyl and the other is of your standard mp3 fair. Only 300 records have been made! This is our first ever full length collection of songs to make it onto vinyl and we are very excited.
If you are in the Kansas City area, Nate will be playing a (mostly) solo set at Cafe Main (801 Main St) in Grandview, MO to celebrate the album release this Sunday Nov. 10th. The show is all-ages from 6-8 pm and $2.
We hope to see you soon.
Nate and Tessa
About GITD:
Glow In The Dark, in some ways, represents the best of what our band, Destroy Nate Allen, has been. We have performed most of the songs on Side A hundreds of times; these are the requests – “White Flag”, “Jesus, Keep Us Safe From The Cops,” “My Parents Managed Apartments” – and some of our favorite songs: “Loving You Means Everything” and “Recipe.”
For the last several years we have been exhausting our artistic life force, traveling the country and singing our hearts out as a duo. But before that, Destroy Nate Allen was a bare bones, confessional solo project. This is reflected on Side B, which features some of my least favorite songs to play live such as: “Asshole” and “Last Call.” These songs represent the hard times, the struggles, my fears. Nevertheless, the album ends as it should, with laughter and loud crowd participation.
We are super excited to finally have this retrospective collection see the light of day. Most of these recordings are far out of print and or have never been officially released. It is hard to say what the future holds, but we are so thankful for your love and support that has allowed our extroverted folk punk theater to exist. – Nate Allen

*WE ARE PLAYING ON FRIDAY. We were originally scheduled to play on Saturday.
The best thing about punk rock is friendship. This weekend we’ll be joining some of our favorite bands to celebrate a release weekend for NXNW Records. Here is a run down on why you should come out @ 9 PM to see everyone rock starting on Friday at Katie O’ Brien’s and then come back on Saturday to have fun all over again.
Friday Highlights:
Callow – This smooth rocking Bay Area duo are celebrating the release of a new album. I normally don’t love music this chill but Callow puts me in a great mood and is not to be missed. Check the tunes.
Attica! Attica! – Aaron is a kindred spirit. I can’t recommend his folky-punk highly enough. He’s one our favorites in the country. We’re stoked to be rocking with him again. It’s been too long. Check the tunes.
Danger Death Ray – We shared our first 7″ with DDR and have played many a house show with these fine gentlemen over the years. Come see them play a rare acoustic set. Check the tunes.
Tuck and Roll will cap off the night with a high energy set sure to make your 90’s punk rock spirit come alive. Get ready to sweat. Check the tunes.
The Tanked – I have known the Tanked since their day’s in the Misfats. You’d be hard pressed to find a better drinking band in Portland. They will close the night in style. You don’t want to miss this! Check it out.
Sam Fisher – Sam is from Tuck and Roll. He’ll be ripping out a set of his new acoustic tunes. Check it out.
Matt Schoch – I dig Matt’s blue grassy new record. Check it out.
Danger Death Ray (electric set).
Details are posted on pc-pdx.com. Here is the facebook event for Saturday.
NXNW Records put our first 7″. You can listen to it HERE or purchase one of the last copies HERE.
We are stoked to be rocking a super fun show with Japanther in a few days. This will be our first Destroy Nate Allen show in Portland since January. No one has to miss out on the fun because this party is all-ages! Bring your friends and lace up your sneakers, we’re going dancing tonight. – Nate
We are part of an 18 track benefit compilation titled “Positive Jams” that is being released to aid Abra Hall who is fighting cancer. Positive Jams includes live full band Destroy Nate Allen recordings of Electrified and We Talk Occasionally On The Internet. We are stoked to rocking alongside tracks from Elway, Absent Minds, Abolitionist, Pageripper (fools rush, partners 818), Southtowne Lanes, Matt Danger (Ninjas-With-Syringes), Hides and Don Peyote.
Dying scene had this to say:
The album is available now via Bandcamp for $5 or a donation of your choice and includes Elway track, “The Salt and the Sea.” Featured is a rare live Destroy Nate Allen recording with a horn and keys in the background, which they toured with for only a very short while after their latest album “With Our Powers Combined.”
We made it home safely from tour! Our van never broke down and we made tons of new friends. I’m calling it a success. I’ll be posting a lot of videos and at least one blog reflecting on the tour soon. We’ll be taking it easy in Portland while we figure out where we’ll be living and working. We only have one show scheduled as of now it’s part of Big Ass Boombox a loud free, all-ages music festival. It’s January 12th @ Floating World Comics. Here is a promo video for the fest and a flyer for our show. Come celebrate our return to Portland. We won’t be playing many shows so please come hang out if you can.
We’re hitting the road again in a few weeks. You can view the tour dates over on our shows page. This tour will be a little different for us on many fronts. After 700 shows in 5 years, this will the last Destroy Nate Allen tour before we take a sabbatical from the road. I don’t know when we will be back out across the US. We’ve been running non-stop for the last several years. We’re ready for a break. We’ll still be playing locally and regionally but our bodies just need a rest from extended van life for a season. Our goal for our upcoming tour is to hit to hit many of the places we haven’t been in a while and we have many fun ideas planned for this tour. We’ve spent the last month doing tour prep almost everyday. If you know anyone if these towns or you can help with booking or promotion in any way please drop us a line at destroynateallen@gmail.com. We can’t wait to see everyone!
